From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The family of a Moreno Valley man killed in last month’s train crash has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and Metrolink, saying the two rail lines failed to install adequate safety devices that could have prevented the crash.

The wife and two daughters of Robert Kube, 59, one of two commuters who died in the April 23 head-on crash involving a Metrolink train and a freight train, also allege that operator fatigue contributed to the incident.
