Two of three men who investigators believe killed a man in Hollywood for the expensive wheels on his Lexus have been arrested in New York while driving a rental car, authorities said Monday.

Dane Edward Woodson, 19, and Garrett Watson, 24, were taken into custody Thursday in Brooklyn, said Los Angeles Police Det. Mike Thrasher.

Thrasher said he and other Hollywood homicide detectives conducted surveillance in Brooklyn and New Jersey, where the suspects have friends and family, before NYPD officers spotted the men in Brooklyn.

A third suspect has yet to be caught.

“One of these cold-blooded killers is still out there,” Thrasher said.

Jamar Cornell Nunally, 20, is believed to have participated in the May 19 fatal shooting of Ryan James Groetken, 25, of Long Beach, investigators said.

Investigators allege that the men confronted Groetken as he parked the Lexus in the 1800 block of Cherokee Avenue. They demanded his keys, and he complied. Nonetheless, Thrasher said, one of the men shot him with a 9-millimeter handgun and then fled in the silver 1999 Lexus GS300. The car was recovered in a Ridgecrest, Calif., garage, minus the wheel rims.

Flashy rims like those on Groetken’s Lexus, which spin when the car stops, can cost as much as $18,000. Police believe those rims may now be on a green 1991 Infiniti Q45 with the California license plate 5ARR145.
