Fight Gets Big Rating for HBO
The heavyweight championship fight between Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko Saturday night at Staples Center provided HBO with its highest rating for boxing in four years.
The fight was seen in 4.6 million homes, which represents 13.4% of the nation’s television households that get HBO.
The 13.4 rating was the highest for an HBO fight since the Oscar De La Hoya-Oba Carr fight May 22, 1999, registered a 14.6. And it was the highest rating for an HBO heavyweight fight since the George Foreman-Shannon Briggs fight Nov. 22, 1997, drew a 14.9.
