3 Teenagers Die in 2 Car Accidents

Three teenagers have died in unrelated car crashes in the last two days near here, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Patricia Luna, 15, was killed Thursday when the vehicle she was riding in crashed into a tree, the CHP said.

The driver, 15-year-old Alex Farias, was transported to University Medical Center in Fresno with major head trauma, where he later died, CHP said, adding that neither teen had a driver’s license.

Two 16-year-olds crashed their vehicle early Friday on a winding, wet road near Three Rivers, several miles from Sequoia National Park, the CHP said. The passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, was unhurt. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the CHP said.

The 16-year-olds’ names had not been released Friday.
