* Rachel Moss, Los Alamitos: Junior outside hitter had 20 kills, 11 digs and nine aces as the Griffins, ranked No. 4 in Division I-AA, beat top-ranked Anaheim Esperanza, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 26-24.

* Lauren McLaughlin, South Torrance: Had 17 kills and 11 digs to hand Manhattan Beach Mira Costa a 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 loss, its first in the Bay League since 1984.

* Stephanie Darnall, Laguna Beach: Delivered 13 kills as the Breakers, ranked eighth in Division IV-AA, beat Irvine Northwood, ranked second in Division III-AA, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19.

* Karissa Hookstadt, Camarillo: Had 12 kills, three blocks and 32 assists as the Scorpions ended Oxnard’s 60-match league winning streak, 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.

* Sylvia Loza, Los Angeles Garfield: Had eight kills and five blocks as Garfield won its 70th consecutive Eastern League match, beating L.A. Roosevelt, 26-24, 25-20, 25-7.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

* Kyle Thorsness, Costa Mesa: Scored four goals, all in the third quarter, as the Mustangs overcame a 7-5 halftime deficit to beat two-time defending Golden West League champion Santa Ana Saddleback, 10-8.

* Alex Edmunds, Los Angeles Loyola: Scored the decisive goal, his fifth, with 2:28 left in an 11-10 win over Mission Hills Alemany.

* Jack Hines, Riverside Poly: Had four goals in Division V showdown as No. 1 Poly beat No. 4 La Verne Damien, 15-9.

* Eric Vreeland, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake: Scored 11 goals for the Wolverines in a 21-2 victory over Encino Crespi.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

* Lindsey Cohen and Leslie Quintanilla, Venice: After Venice fell behind, 3-0, the No. 3 doubles team won, 8-6, to help provide a 4-3 victory over L.A. Westchester.

GIRLS’ GOLF

* Stevy Loy, Valencia: Shot a two-under-par 29 at El Cariso Golf Course as the Vikings won a six-team Foothill League meet, edging Newhall Hart, 187-192.
