GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

* Cat Dailey and Vista Murphy, Newport Beach Sage Hill: Dailey had eight kills and Murphy recorded seven aces, including four in the second game, for the Lightning (8-4, 2-0), ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division V coaches’ poll, in a 25-11, 25-11, 25-14 Academy League victory over Capistrano Valley Christian.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

* Logan Hansen, L.A. Brentwood: Swept at singles for the host Eagles (8-3), No. 1 in Division III, in an 11-7 win over Huntington Beach Edison (7-6), No. 8 in Division II.

* Brooke Robertson and Bethany Miller, Santa Barbara: The No. 2 doubles team beat the No. 1 team from Irvine Northwood, No. 10 in Division I, to help the host Dons (9-1), No. 1 in Division II, record a 12-6 nonleague victory.
