Woman Found Dead; Man Held
A woman was found dead in a Fountain Valley street Wednesday after police arrested a man they said was waving a knife.
William J. Marrufo, 33, of Fountain Valley was taken into custody about 7:15 p.m. in the 9800 block of Gladiola Circle after police, alerted by neighbors, found him waving a knife, authorities said.
Shortly after Marrufo was arrested, officers discovered the body of the unidentified woman in the street, said Sgt. Kevin Thomas of the Fountain Valley Police Department.
“There was so much trauma to the head and torso area that we’re going to have to wait for further investigation” to identify the woman and cause of death, Thomas said. “It’s much too early to speculate on what happened.”
