BOYS’ BASKETBALL

* Arthur White, Alhambra: Scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half and had 15 rebounds in a 39-32 Almont League victory over San Gabriel.

* Emilio Chavez and Henry Campos, L.A. Garfield: Chavez made a three-point shot at the buzzer to finish with seven points, and Campos had 10 points and eight rebounds in a 40-39 Eastern League victory over South Gate.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

* Kristen Cabral, Fullerton Sunny Hills: Made two free throws with 30 seconds left and finished with 14 points, six rebounds, seven steals and seven assists in a 45-43 overtime victory over La Habra Sonora in a Freeway League game.

* Erinn Bell, Los Angeles Hamilton: Made two free throws to force overtime, then scored four of her 13 points in the extra period in a 54-51 Western League victory over L.A. Fairfax.

* Kate Kevorken, Thousand Oaks: Made two free throws with 36 seconds left to clinch a 56-55 Marmonte League victory over Agoura. She finished with 22 points.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

* Ashley Chandler, Corona del Mar: Scored two goals, including the decisive one in the third quarter, as the Sea Kings, ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division II, hung on to defeat third-ranked Villa Park, 6-5.
