Driver flees, is arrested after bicyclist is struck
A bicyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run motorist over the weekend remained in critical but stable condition Sunday, Orange County sheriff’s deputies said.
The 58-year-old Coto de Caza man was riding on Antonio Parkway about 3 p.m. Saturday when a car veered into the bike lane and hit him.
Deputies said the driver of the vehicle and his 4-year-old son fled and were captured about a mile away. Augustin Hernandez Perez, 31, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run driving. Deputies said his son was returned to his mother.
