The scoop: Holmes’ fourth three-pointer of the fourth quarter cut host Marina’s deficit to two points with 1 minute 20 seconds to play before Los Alamitos pulled away.

Why it matters: Los Alamitos remained undefeated in the Sunset League after holding off a stiff challenge from the scrappy Vikings. “They’re just so deep,” Marina Coach Roger Holmes said of the Griffins. “They have 10 guys that can all play.”
