Robert Bersbach of Upland (6-6) had five goals in the Highlanders’ 12-6 victory over Rowland, and he added two more goals in an 8-5 loss to Claremont in a round-robin consolation competition in the Rowland tournament.Goalie Kory Wilson had 35 saves on the day, including 20 in the first game.Upland, Claremont and Rowland each finished 1-1 on the day.

Championship

Servite 16, Foothill 9
Chris Lingle scored seven goals for Servite as the Friars upended previously unbeaten and top-seeded Foothill for the championship of the South Coast tournament at Corona del Mar High.

Servite (8-0), ranked No. 4 in the Southland by The Times, benefited from five first-half goals by Lingle, who had three in the second period to help the Friars to a 7-4 halftime lead. Servite led, 3-0, after the first quarter.

Besides Lingle’s strong showing, the Friars also got three goals by Adam McCall and two each from Adam Hewko and Matt Garcia.

Foothill (7-1) struggled to climb out of the early hole, but Frank Reynolds, who had five goals, scored the first goal of the second half to cut the Knights’ deficit to 7-5. They stayed within 8-6 before Servite scored five times in a row to extend its lead again.

Daniel Goldstein scored his second goal of the match with 1:46 left in sudden-death overtime to lead top-ranked Foothill (6-0) over No. 10 San Clemente. Foothill trailed, 5-4, with 1:28 left in regulation when Goldstein scored his first goal to force overtime. Frank Reynolds scored three goals to lead the Knights, who will play No. 3 El Toro in the semifinals Saturday at Corona del Mar.

Julien Lormant and David Husen each scored three goals in the win over the Jackrabbits, and Lormant added six more goals in the third-round game as the Eagles (4-3) defeated Edison.
