Newport Harbor 9, Foothill 8
Griffin Gentry scored three goals, including the game-winner with 3:17 remaining to lift Newport Harbor, ranked No. 8 by The Times, past No. 5 Foothill at Lynbrook High in San Jose. Gentry’s final goal gave the Sailors a 9-7 lead. Frank Reynolds scored with 2:55 left to draw Foothill to within one goal at 9-8, but Newport Harbor goalie Michael Robinson stopped a point-blank shot with under a minute remaining to seal the victory. Robinson finished with seven saves and two steals. Reynolds, Steven Willinger and Jayce Seymour each had two goals for Foothill, which beat Newport Harbor, 11-10, Oct. 8 in a Sea View League contest. Newport Harbor will play either El Toro or Harvard-Westlake in the quarterfinals Saturday at Bellarmine High in San Jose.

First round

Newport Harbor 11, Miramonte 10
Newport Harbor trailed at halftime, 6-4, before outscoring Miramonte, 5-0, in the third quarter. Micheal Bury scored three goals in the third quarter and finished with five goals to lead Newport Harbor. Griffin Gentry scored with 55 seconds left in fourth quarter to give the Sailors 11-9 lead. Miramonte scored with 41 seconds left to cut the lead to one.

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Agoura 14, Thousand Oaks 10
Andrew Wedman had six goals, Zak Cianflone had three goals and three steals and Greg Altmann had six assists and seven steals for host Agoura (13-9, 5-4).
