Baseball: John Reyes gets four hits in Kennedy victory

Granada Hills Kennedy gave first-year Coach Marcus Alvarado his first victory on Wednesday with a 10-8 win over Arleta.

John Reyes went four for four with a home run and three RBIs. Jerry Aguilar and Luis Gomez each went three for three.

Taft defeated Wilson, 12-0, in five innings. Edgar Hildago gave up two hits. Alex Davis and Alex Roth had three RBIs each.

Cleveland defeated Verdugo Hills, 6-0. Jack Fox (2-0) threw six shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out six. Bryan Suppan and Greg Conklin each had two hits.

Roosevelt defeated Sun Valley Poly, 2-1. Anthony Cabello threw a complete game and Brandon Hernandez had the game-winning RBI in the fifth innings.

Sylmar defeated Westchester, 10-4. Robert Jaime, back from wrestling, went three for three. Andrew Ochoa improved to eight for 11 hitting on the season.

Northridge Academy defeated East Valley, 10-0. Jesse Torres threw a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
