Don Barbara, an assistant coach at Pacific and a former standout at Long Beach State, will be taking over the baseball program at St. John Bosco.
Barbara said he received a contract on Wednesday, signed it and faxed it on Thursday to make it official.
He takes over a program that has been producing lots of college players but not winning in the tough Trinity League.
“I would hope they would expect me to win,” he said. “I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
