Baseball: ECR left-hander Jeremy Polon continues to be summer star
- Share via
If sophomore-to-be Jeremy Polon of Woodland Hills El Camino Real pitches anything like he has been doing this summer in the spring, the Conquistadores could have an All-City pitcher on their squad.
The former junior varsity left-hander continues to dazzle. In his latest pitching performance, he shut out Crespi for five innings, allowing two hits with seven strikeouts and zero walks. He left the game with El Camino Real on top, 6-0. The Conquistadores won, 6-4, in the Valley Invitational League game.
Polon doesn’t throw hard, but he throws strikes, and that’s the secret to success in high school baseball. This summer, he’s 4-0 with an 0.56 ERA and has 34 strikeouts and just three walks in 25 innings. He should make his next appearance in the playoffs next week. Sophomores Dylan Hirsch and Eric Yang had two hits apiece for ECR.
