Boys’ basketball: Michael Westphal is rehired as Moorpark coach
Moorpark has rehired Michael Westphal to be its boys’ basketball coach after he had resigned to move to North Carolina.
The lesson learned is leave on a good note, because Westphal decided to return to the area and apply for his old job.
Athletic Director Rob Dearborn said it was the first time in his 18 years that he rehired a coach. Westphal had been gone for about a month. Last season was his first for the Musketeers, who went 17-11.
