Boys’ basketball: Redondo advances to Division I regional final against Crespi

Huskies advance to Open Division regional final after 82-62 win over Foothills Christian.

Morgan Means made two free throws with 1.8 seconds left to enable Redondo to defeat Narbonne, 63-62, on Tuesday night in a Division I Southern California Regional semifinal.

Elijah Nesbit finished with 18 points. Redondo will face Crespi on Saturday at The Pyramid. De’Anthony Melton scored 26 points in Crespi’s 68-55 win over San Diego St. Augustine.

In the Open Division semifinals, Chino Hills (33-0) defeated Foothills Christian, 82-62. Lonzo Ball scored 23 points and Eli Scott and Onyeka Okongwu added 19 points apiece. T.J. Leaf scored 36 points for Foothills Christian. Chino Hills will play Bishop Montgomery in Saturday’s 8:30 p.m. final at The Pyramid. Bishop Montgomery defeated Cathedral Catholic, 72-56. David Singleton scored 26 points.

In Division IV, Harvard-Westlake won its second consecutive game without freshman standout Cassius Stanley (concussion), a 47-43 win over Gardena Serra. Wolfgang Novogratz and Carter Begel each scored 10 points. Stanley is expected back for Saturday’s final against Viewpoint, which defeated Oceanside El Camino, 73-57. Sayo Denloye scored 17 points and Christian Juzang 14.

In Division III, rivals Ayala and Bonita will meet in the final. Ayala defeated Oak Park, 62-58, going on a 23-0 run. Riley Battin had 24 points for Oak Park. Bonita defeated Calabasas, 76-72, in overtime.

In Division II, Long Beach Poly defeated Los Alamitos, 56-39. North defeated Orange Lutheran, 54-44.
