Boys’ basketball: Sun Valley Poly coach serving six-game suspension

Sun Valley Poly Coach Alan Woskanian is in the middle of a six-game suspension imposed by the school after he played a sitout period player before he was eligible, Athletic Director Kim McEwen said Wednesday.
City Section Commissioner John Aguirre said an investigation is continuing into the rule violation that also included another ineligible player. Poly will forfeit games in which the two players participated in. Further disciplinary action could be taken. Poly reported the violations after another school lodged a complaint.
Poly plays North Hollywood on Wednesday. That game will be the fifth game in which Woskanian has sat out.
