Football: If you want to recruit 6-7, 315-pound Tommy Brown, you better like lacrosse

UCLA Coach Jim Mora always seems to be talking lacrosse with 6-foot-7, 315-pound sophomore offensive lineman Tommy Brown from Santa Ana Mater Dei.
It happened recently in Orange County, where Mora showed up to watch his son, Ryder, a senior at Loyola headed to Maryland. Brown also likes lacrosse even though he’s not playing this season and was at the match. So whenever Brown and Mora greet each other, the conversation usually turns to lacrosse, according to Brown’s father, Vince, the baseball coach at Foothill.
“They always seem to be running into each other,” Brown said.
Tommy is set to take an unofficial visit to UCLA next week. He’s expected to be one of the top blockers in the Southland next season.
He’s also been good about keeping his weight stable.
“Coach Rollinson is always on him about not gaining weight,” his father said.
