Football: In the battle between public and private schools, public wins, 18-17
There’s some people who want to separate public and private schools in the Southern Section playoffs, but it’s always fun to see what happens when they compete against each other.
In the opening round of the Southern Section football playoffs on Thursday and Friday, there were 35 matchups and the public schools had the edge, 18-17.
In Divisions 1 through 5, the public schools led, 10-5. In Division 1, there were seven matchups and public schools prevailed, 4-3.
Of course, we’ll see in the end how many champions come from private and public schools in the 13 divisions.
