Football: It’s final test night for Orange Lutheran QB Luke Langdon

Share

It’s final exam time for Orange Lutheran quarterback Luke Langdon, a senior who has been under the radar among the many talented quarterbacks in the Trinity League.

Next up is a showdown game on Friday night against top-ranked Bellflower St. John Bosco (6-0) at St. John Bosco.

Langdon has quietly helped the Lancers to a 6-0 start.

“He’s been in the system for a year and a half,” second-year Coach Chuck Petersen said. “He’s doing exactly what we ask him to do and doing it at a high level.”

The Orange Lutheran quarterback has to make judgment calls on option plays.

“The first thing you have to be is a manager of the game,” Petersen said. “In our offense, every snap, you’re going to have three different options in which to distribute the football. He’s making great decisions. He’s a great leader. Kids have a great belief in him. The hidden aspect is he can throw the ball with anybody in the league.”

Langdon had 164 yards passing and one touchdown against JSerra and 42 yards rushing for two touchdowns.
