Football: Unbeaten San Marino (10-0) gets chance to prove itself in Central Division playoffs

So far, so good for unbeaten San Marino, which went 10-0 during the regular season and cruised to the Rio Hondo League title.

But now the Titans have to turn it up a notch, because the competition gets much tougher in the Central Division playoffs, starting with a Friday home game against Diamond Ranch (7-3).

San Marino played mostly schools from around the Pasadena area and San Gabriel Valley. Now it must venture outside its comfort zone, but the Titans certainly have the offensive firepower to succeed.

Quarterback Carson Glazier has completed 80% of his passes. That’s pretty good no matter who the opponent is. He has passed for 2,727 yards and 34 touchdowns with just one interception.

Receiver J.P. Shohfi has caught 68 passes for 1,334 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Diamond Ranch is coached by former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame quarterback Jim Welker, who played on a national championship team at LSU. He’s got a top running back in Davion Gaisie, who has gained 1,341 yards and scored 17 touchdowns.
