Girls’ basketball: Harvard-Westlake, Fairmont Prep advance to Palisades tourney final

It will be Fairmont Prep taking on Harvard-Westlake on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the championship game of the Palisades girls’ basketball tournament.

In Friday’s semifinals, Jayla Ruffus-Milner scored 23 points to lift Harvard-Westlake past Valencia, 46-39.

Fairmont Prep defeated Palisades, 65-34, despite 18 points from Chelsey Gipson.

Alemany defeated Serra, 84-75, in overtime. Jasmine Hardy had 27 points and Jillian Archer 21. Cheyenne Givens led Serra with 21 points.


Chaminade defeated Canyon, 55-39. Melissa Wright finished with 21 points.

Saturday’s schedule: Hueneme vs. Taft, 10 a.m.; La Canada vs. Oaks Christian, 11:30 a.m.; St. Anthony vs. Agoura, 1 p.m.; Marlborough vs. Ventura, 2:30 p.m.; Canyon vs. Alemany, 4 p.m.; Chaminade vs. Serra, 5:30 p.m.; Palisades vs. Valencia, 7 p.m.
