LA84 Foundation awards $1.68 million in grants

The LA84 Foundation has given out $1.68 million in grants to more the 20 organizations in its latest dispersing of money from the 1984 Olympic Games, including $250,000 to the Special Olympics World Games.
LA’S BEST will receive $335,000 to support of after school sports programs in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The Southern California Tennis Assn. received $150,000 to serve 8,800 youth in tennis programs.
Play Rugby received a grant of $75,680 to help fund a youth program with 100 schools participating.
A grant of $74,222 was awarded to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation for opportunities in baseball and softball for disadvantaged youths.
