San Marcos wins seven academic team championships

San Marcos is the only school among the 576 in the Southern Section to win seven team academic awards based on the cumulative non-weighted grade point averages of its athletes.
The teams that won for San Marcos were boys basketball, girls soccer, boys swimming, boys track and field, girls track and field, girls volleyball and boys water polo.
All 22 San Marcos sports teams had combined GPAs over 3.0. Entries were received from 1,789 teams.
Flintridge Prep won in football for schools of 1499 or less and Hemet won for 1500 or more.
