Soccer: Cathedral gets its 18th shutout in 3-0 win over Yucaipa
Top-seeded L.A. Cathedral continues to look strong in the Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
The Phantoms recorded their 18th shutout in a 3-0 second-round victory over Yucaipa on Wednesday. Derrick Gracia was in goal and Max Valdivia, Eduardo Chaires and Kevin Aragon contributed goals.
In Division 1, No. 2 seeded Servite was upset by Peninsula, 3-2. Top-seeded Paramount defeated Fountain Valley, 1-0. Loyola received goals from Henry Smith Hastie and Trevor Homstad in a 2-0 win over Buena.
In City Section Division I girls, El Camino Real defeated Cleveland, 2-0. El Camino Real will play Bell in the semifinals on Tuesday. Sierra Withers and Shelby Vasich each scored goals.
