Narbonne, Crenshaw to meet in City Section Division I final

The showdown everyone has anticipated all season in City Section Division I is set.

Harbor City Narbonne and Crenshaw each won their semifinal games Friday night to advance to next Saturday’s 7 p.m. final at East Los Angeles College.

A.J. Richardson scored two touchdowns and Johnell Jackson rushed for 93 yards and scored two touchdowns in Narbonne’s 39-12 victory over Carson. Crenshaw routed Venice, 59-10. Narbonne is 13-0. Crenshaw is 12-1.

In City Division II semifinals, San Fernando upset No. 1-seeded South East, 24-13. Daemon Thompson returned an interception for a touchdown and ran for another. The Tigers will play Canoga Park in next Saturday’s 3 p.m. final. Canoga Park defeated Jefferson, 36-35. The Hunters went for a two-point conversion with 17 seconds left and Khyree Morgan caught the pass from Alex Dion.

In the Southern Section Western Division, Gardena Serra upset No. 1-seeded Lompoc, 34-21. Lompoc had the longest winning streak in the state at 32 games. Jalen Greene threw three touchdown passes in the first half.

Serra will play host to Mission League rival West Hills Chaminade in Friday’s championship game. Chaminade defeated L.A. Cathedral, 45-7.
