Agent Dan Fegan, on counterpart David Falk’s comments that Washington point guard John Wall lacked a “feel for the game” and was incapable of being the franchise’s cornerstone: “David Falk’s rant about John Wall was uneducated, unsophisticated and immature. It proved the adage that one can grow old without ever growing up. I’m relieved David had the sense to apologize for his remarks, but that doesn’t change the fact that he publicly disparaged a classy young man and a great young player.”

Worth every penny

Atlanta forward Josh Smith, on saying he was worth a maximum contract: “The question was asked to me, if I felt like I was that, and I just gave an honest answer. I think if you don’t know the value of yourself, who will?”

TNT analyst and former Phoenix legend Charles Barkley, on wanting to help save the Suns from themselves: “That’s my hometown team. I live in Phoenix. I watch the Suns religiously. And I’m very disappointed in their direction. They’re not competitive. Even the really bad teams like Cleveland and Sacramento have players to build around. The Suns?
