The Galaxy is coming off a 4-0 pounding by Seattle in its last match; Chivas will play its first game since beating Portland two weeks ago. The clubs are separated by six points in the Western Conference standings, with Chivas in sixth place and the Galaxy occupying fifth, the last available playoff spot. The teams are meeting for the second time in four weeks, and the Galaxy has dominated the all-time series. Chivas has won only four of the 24 games. The only time Chivas won the SuperClascio season series was in 2007.
