Boys’ basketball: Lonzo Ball is Southern Section Open Division player of the year

Lonzo Ball of Chino Hills has been named player of the year in the Southern Section Open Division and leads the All-CIF team released on Monday.
The Open Division All-CIF team includes LiAngelo Ball and Eli Scott of Chino Hills; Shacquille Dawkins of Alemany; Spencer Freedman of Mater Dei; Leland Green of Redondo; Jordan Griffin of Corona Centennial; De’Anthony Melton of Crespi; Bryce Peters of Damien; Cody Riley of Sierra Canyon; Jordan Schakel of Bishop Montgomery; Ethan Thompson of Bishop Montgomery, and Eyassu Worku of Los Alamitos.
Dikymbe Martin of North was named player of the year in 1AA.
