There was plenty of drama at the City Section soccer finals on Saturday night.

Taft's girls' team won its first Division I championship, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to defeat rival El Camino Real, 3-2. Kelly Diaz scored the winning goal.

In the boys' Division I final, top-seeded Granada Hills was stunned by Palisades, 2-1, in overtime. Nima Bahri scored the game-winning goal.

In Southern Section Division 1 boys, Loyola won its second title in the last three years, defeating Santa Barbara, 3-1.

Elliot Smith-Hastie had a goal and an assist for the Cubs.

The Southern California Regionals begin this coming week.
