Culver City Salutes Cage, Soccer Teams

The City Council of Culver City has commended last season’s soccer and basketball teams at Culver City High School.
The soccer team, coached by Daniel Ahayon and Luis Lichtl, won the Ocean League championship, reached the 4-A CIF finals and finished with a record of 22-2.
Coach Marty Siegal’s basketball squad tied Inglewood for the Ocean League title with a 9-1 record. The Centaurs were 20-7 overall.
Members of the soccer team were Steve Barzalai, Jeff Brennan, Ian Drummond, Gary Filtzanidis, William Gude, German Laverde, Jack Nick, Jorge Orellana, brothers Carlos, Danny and Raul Pena, Roberto Perez, Robert Reyes, Manuel Rubio, Greg Smith and Rudy Valdeverde.
Basketball players were Adrian Baker, Erik Johnson, Henry Johnson, John Jones, Marvin Nelson, Shawn Nunley, Todd Semien, Tim Takara, Dan Troy, Steve Turner and Jason Woodruff.
