Mater Dei Still No. 1 in Basketball Top 10

Undefeated Mater Dei High School remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. high school basketball poll.

The Monarchs, the county’s only unbeaten team, were idle last week and open play in the Orange Tournament Friday.

Ocean View, which had its 18-game winning streak snapped last week by Dominguez in the title game of the Tournament of Champions, is ranked second.
