OCC Meets Los Medanos Friday in the State Baseball Playoffs

Orange Coast College will play Los Medanos College of Pittsburg, Calif., in the first round of the state community college baseball tournament Friday at 11 a.m. at Santa Clara University.

OCC (33-11) is the No. 3-seeded team from the South, and Los Medanos (28-11) is the North’s No. 2 seed in the double-elimination tournament that continues through the weekend. The championship game will be played Monday at 11 a.m. at San Jose Municipal Park.

In Friday’s other first-round games: South No. 2 College of the Canyons (32-8-1) plays North No. 3 Butte (28-11) at San Jose City College at 11 a.m.; South No. 1 Cerritos (40-4) plays North No. 4 Contra Costa (28-11) at San Jose City College at 2:30 p.m., and South No. 4 San Bernardino Valley (33-11) plays North No. 1 Sacramento City (46-6) at Santa Clara University at 2:30 p.m.
