Kegler’s 60-Yard Run Lifts San Diego High, 7-2

SAN DIEGO — Jimmy Kegler ran 60 yards for a touchdown with five minutes remaining to snap a scoreless tie and give San Diego High School its first victory of the season, 7-2, over St. Augustine in a City Central League football game Saturday night at San Diego High.
San Diego is 1-7 overall and 1-2 in league play. St. Augustine fell to 3-5 and 0-3.
St. Augustine drove inside the San Diego 10-yard line in the final two minutes but failed to score. San Diego punter Brian Baird took an intentional safety with 57 seconds to play to account for St. Augustine’s points.
