Corona del Mar Players Reach Sea View Final

Danielle Scott and Robin Bain of Corona del Mar High School will play today to determine the top female tennis player in the Sea View League. Scott, seeded first, advanced to the league final by defeating Dawn Bard of Newport Harbor, 6-0, 6-0 Tuesday. Bain defeated Kristy Phebus of Corona del Mar, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Two Estancia teams play in the doubles final. Erin Hendricks and Dina Birch of Estancia defeated Newport Harbor’s Hilary Bunnell and Hilary Benedict, 6-2, 6-3, Tuesday. Hendricks and Birch play Karen Farguhar and Elena Birch, who defeated Corona del Mar’s Liz Bastiaanse and Courtney Strauss, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

The matches will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Balboa Bay Racquet Club.
