Garden Grove League Girls’ Basketball : Leuta Leads La Quinta Rout Over Los Amigos
Patty Leuta scored a career-high 25 points to lead La Quinta High School to a 85-12 victory over Los Amigos in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game Wednesday night at La Quinta.
Donna Gondringer and Amy Jalewalia added 15 points each for the Aztecs (11-3, 3-0), and Gondringer had 10 rebounds. La Quinta led at halftime, 42-5.
Los Amigos’ Wendy Gilbert scored six points.
In other games:
Kennedy 47, Garden Grove 32--Michelle Harris and Gina Alcoser each scored eight points to lead the Irish (2-11, 2-2) at Garden Grove. Kennedy led the entire game, as the Argonauts never were closer than 10 points in the second half.
Rancho Alamitos 53, Pacifica 26--Christy Kalbhenn scored 23 to lead the host Vaqueros. Jenny Newsome had 11 and 8 steals for Rancho Alamitos (5-5, 3-1). Jenny Ditto scored 10 points for the Mariners, who are 0-4 in league.
