Girls’ Basketball : Reseda Extends Streak to Nine With 90-28 Romp Over Grant

Angie Smith, a senior guard-forward, scored a game-high 24 points to lead Reseda High to a 90-28 victory over Grant in the West Valley League game Friday at Reseda. The win was the ninth in a row for the Regents (10-1, 3-0).
Junior guard Cheryl Hightower had 22 points and 8 steals, and forward Freida Kalajian added 20 points and 13 rebounds for Reseda, the defending City Section 3-A Division champion. Christa Smith scored 20 points for Grant.
El Camino Real 71, Chatsworth 42--Kerrie Marshall scored a game-high 32 points for El Camino Real (7-3, 3-0) in the Valley League game at Chatsworth. Susan Tuan led Chatsworth (7-2, 1-2) with 10 points.
Canoga Park 40, Taft 36--Marie Maxwell led Taft (2-5, 0-3) with 10 points in the West Valley League game at Taft.
Chaminade 33, Notre Dame 32--Zettiee Honore’s 15-foot jump shot with five seconds remaining capped Chaminade’s come-from-behind effort in the San Fernando Valley League game at Notre Dame.
Thousand 88, Westlake 29--Kris Pederson and Barbara Tanner each scored 22 points for Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League rout at home. Tanner and Pederson combined for 21 points in the first half, as Thousand Oaks (16-3, 5-0) jumped out to 26-11 lead.
