College Spring Sports : Moorpark Loss Leaves Team in Third Place
A Moorpark College rally stalled with the tying run on third base, helping El Camino College defeat the Lady Raiders, 5-4, on Tuesday in the College of the Sequoias softball tournament in Visalia.
Trailing, 5-3, in the sixth inning, Moorpark’s Tammy Ottino tripled home Wendy Tabakman, who had singled. Moorpark, however, was unable to pick up Ottino.
The game was called after six innings because of a time limit.
The Lady Raiders (16-9-1), who finished in third place, won their first three games in the 20-team tournament before Taft defeated Moorpark, 6-2, on Monday.
Taft went on to defeat El Camino, 4-0, on Tuesday for the championship.
