Six Westside high school athletes were named to All-CIF Southern Section teams chosen by CIF advisory committees in boys volleyball and girls softball.
In volleyball, junior Mike Sealy and senior Ryan Moos of Santa Monica High were 4-A first-team selections and Santa Monica senior Sean Clark made the second team. Brentwood sophomore Grady Leck was named to the 3-A second team.
In softball, Culver City senior infielder Yvonne Gutierrez made the 3-A team, and Bel-Air Prep sophomore pitcher Chrissy Peck was a Small Schools Division selection.
Westside high schools were well represented on the All-Los Angeles City 4-A tennis teams selected by a committee of coaches.
In singles, University High’s Jason Clark, Vince Mackey and Jon Kelly and Mason Harris of Palisades were named to the first team, and Marcello Blanco of Fairfax made the third team.
In doubles, first-team selections included Aldryn Aguirre-Roy Gessford and Gregg Rosenblum-Nader Jandaghi, all of Palisades, and the University High team of Will Brown-Eric Schwab. Third-team selections from Palisades were Ardy Ghaffari-Jon Faller and Nader Morovati-Damon Curran.
