SAN DIEGO — Three teams--Torrey Pines, Poway and Lincoln--figured to dominate boys’ high school basketball this season. And they have not disappointed, posting a combined 42-2 record and claiming the top spots in The Times’ San Diego County poll.
Top-ranked Torrey Pines has 1 loss, to Miami Carol City (68-32) in the final of the Palms tournament in Ft. Myers, Fla. Carol City was the eighth-ranked team in the nation by USA Today.
