In another Angelus League match:

Rosary 3, St. Joseph 2--Llana McHugh scored with about 8 minutes left to break a 2-2 tie for host Rosary, which outshot St. Joseph, 18-5. Jenny Kenney and Jenny Schulte scored in the first half for Rosary (5-3-2, 3-1-1).

In Angelus League boys’ soccer:

Servite 4, Bishop Amat 1--Erwin Garcia scored 3 goals, his second hat trick of the week, to lead Servite at home. Dominick Sarno had 7 saves, and Shawn Kane scored the other goal for Servite (4-6-2, 2-0). Bishop Amat is 0-2, 3-10.


In the Century League:

Canyon 2, Santa Ana Valley 1--Jessie Flores scored the winning goal with 9 minutes remaining to lead Canyon (12-2-1, 2-0) at home. Richard Bein scored Canyon’s other goal, and Dieter Estine scored for Santa Ana Valley. Chris Snitko had 8 saves for the Comanches. Jose Rubaleava had 9 saves for the Falcons.

In the Empire League:

Katella 1, Esperanza 0--Brian Schenk scored in the first half for host Katella (8-5-2, 2-1). Paul Bravo had 8 saves for Katella. Esperanza is 6-4, 1-2.

In the Garden Grove League:

Kennedy 2, Garden Grove 0--Sophomore goalie Jerry Vargas had 5 saves and recorded his second consecutive shutout to lead the Fighting Irish at home. Jeff Taylor and Diego Abbes scored in the first half to lead Kennedy (5-3-3, 3-0-1). Pelayo Pelayo had 11 saves for Garden Grove.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 1, Magnolia 0--Chris Stepson scored on a penalty kick late in the second half for host Valencia (7-4, 1-0).

In the Olympic League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 9, Brethren 0--John Louch, Brian Biegert and Paul Marusa each scored 2 goals to lead Capistrano Valley Christian (4-4, 2-2) at home.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Orange 1, Laguna Beach 1--Eric McKay scored for host Orange and Tyler Parks scored for Laguna Beach.

Woodbridge 4, Laguna Hills 1--Bruno Matturano scored 2 goals and Chris Emery scored a goal and had an assist to lead the first-place Warriors at home. John Szczuka scored Woodbridge’s first goal on an assist by Emery to give Woodbridge (5-0-2) a 1-0 halftime lead. Eric Mooberry had 10 saves for Woodbridge. Laguna Hills is 3-2-2 in league play.

Trabuco Hills 5, Costa Mesa 0--Matt Davis scored 2 goals and Don Readinger, Greg Damen and Kevin Rhodes scored 1 each to lead Trabuco Hills (5-4-2, 3-2-1) at Costa Mesa. Goalkeeper Scott Underwood had 6 saves, 3 on dives.

In the Sea View League:

Estancia 2, Tustin 2--Matt Hardy scored the tying goal early in the second half to lead Tustin at Estancia. Art Pugliese also scored for Tustin (4-2-6, 0-0-2). Rob Ablett scored for Estancia (0-0-2 in league).

Saddleback 3, University 0--George Elias, Luis Guerrero and Jose Perez scored for host Saddleback (8-4-4, 1-0-1).

In the South Coast League:

Irvine 1, Mission Viejo 1--John Watson scored on a second-half breakaway to give unranked Irvine the tie with Mission Viejo, the top-ranked team in the Southern Section 4-A. Mission Viejo (14-1-1, 2-0-1) outshot Irvine, 14-11, but Irvine goalkeeper Shane Brosnan foiled the Diablos with 8 saves.
