Longshot Wins at Calder
Longshot Yestday’s Kisses took the lead at the eighth pole and beat Black Tulip by a neck in the $100,000 La Prevoyante Invitational Handicap for fillies and mares at Calder Race Course.
Coolawin finished third and Nastique came from far back for fourth. Gaily Gaily, the favorite, never was in contention and finished seventh in a field of 11.
Yestday’s Kisses, ridden by Herb McCauley, covered the 1 1/2 miles in 2:30 4/5 and paid $22.60, $10.40 and $5.80. Black Tulip paid $9.20 and $6.60 and Coolawin $5.80 to show.
