In other boys’ games:

Royal 78, Channel Islands 74--Russell Myers scored 27 points to lead Royal (19-5, 8-2) to a Marmonte League victory at home.

Royal took a 54-38 lead with 3 minutes 30 seconds left in the third quarter, but Channel Islands (7-15,1-10) came back, tying the score, 63-63, with 5:14 remaining.

Royal pulled away again with an 8-0 run at the five-minute mark in the fourth quarter with three quick baskets by Myers.

Marlow Durmiendo scored 32 points to lead Channel Islands.

Thousand Oaks 62, Westlake 61--Chris Loll made a 13-foot jump shot with 13 seconds left to give Thousand Oaks (11-10, 6-4) an upset victory at home.

Westlake’s chances ended when Matt Heckmann (12 points) missed a 17-foot jump shot with four seconds left. Westlake fell to 13-8 and 7-3, a game behind first-place Royal (8-2) in league play.

Loll finished with a game-high 20 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Shane Graham had 13 points for Thousand Oaks.

Canyon 67, Ridgecrest Burroughs 41--Tom Boobar’s 17 points led four Cowboys in double figures in a Golden League game at Canyon. Mike Dobes had 12 points, Jermaine Nixon 10 and Reggie Haggans 15 off the bench for Canyon (16-6, 5-3).

Ridgecrest Burroughs guard Matt Duncan topped all scorers with 20 as the Burros fell to 2-16, 1-7.

St. Francis 59, Alemany 58--Rich Dice scored 17 points for Alemany (7-15, 1-6), but missed the front end of a one-and-one situation with six seconds left. William Burr and Ray Awad had 14 and 13 points for Alemany.

Harvard 76, Chaminade 64--Rick Osterloh had only four baskets, but he hit 16 of 18 free throws, including 10 of 11 in the fourth period, as Harvard (19-2, 8-0) pulled away in the San Fernando Valley League game at Chaminade. Osterloh finished with 24 points, and Matt Clark and Mike Wolf added 17 and 14 points.

Chaminade (10-10, 4-4), which pulled to within 62-56 in the fourth period, received 18 points from Charlie Fei and 16 from Mark Mirkovich.

Bell-Jeff 56, St. Genevieve 36--Bryan Camacho and Brian Lee scored 13 and 12 points to lead Bell-Jeff (9-11, 5-3) to the San Fernando Valley League win.

Notre Dame 73, La Salle 47--Paul Hewitt scored 22 points to lead the Knights (10-8, 4-2) to the San Fernando Valley League win at home.

Agoura 47, Calabasas 37--Sean Martin scored 16 points to lead Agoura in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.

L.A. Baptist 50, Maranatha 44--Alex Pistone scored 16 points to lead L.A. Baptist to an Alpha League victory over host Maranatha. After leading, 11-8, in the first quarter, L.A. Baptist rebounded, building an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Anthony Fisher and Matt Lindbolm each had 14 points for Maranatha.

Faith Baptist 71, Buckley 59--Sophomore center Peter Rasmussen scored 26 points and had 21 rebounds to lead Faith Baptist (13-9, 6-2) in the Delphic League game. Rasmussen was eight of 12 from the field and 10 of 11 from the line.

Bishop 74, Paraclete 63--Junior center Shawn Preasmyer scored 14 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had six blocks, but host Paraclete (8-12, 1-7) fell in a Desert-Inyo League game at Antelope Valley College.

Highland Hall 70, South Bay Lutheran 66 (OT)--Senior guard Bob Ramirez scored 26 points, including five of the Hawks’ 10 points in overtime, to help Highland Hall (18-2, 12-0) clinch the Westside League title at Stonehurst Park. Craig Ernst (21 points and 14 rebounds) sank a free throw with eight seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

Greg Anastas had 11 points and 11 rebounds and John Klejnot had 12 rebounds for the Hawks.

Brentwood 71, Campbell Hall 64--Chris Scott scored 12 of his 19 points in the first half as the Eagles raced to a 37-16 lead at intermission in a Delphic League game at Campbell Hall as the Vikings remained winless in league play.

Grant 75, Poly 54--Grant, which shot 57% from the field, jumped to a 16-5 lead after one period and led 37-17 at halftime in rolling to its eighth East Valley League win without a loss. Keith Weinstein led Grant (18-3) with 24 points and Setro Terzian added 17.

Monroe 85, Van Nuys 52--Kenyon Wright (22 points) and Maurice McIntosh (18) combined for 40 points to lead Monroe to a Mid-Valley League win. Elmer Singh added 12 points for Monroe (4-13, 3-5). James Hooks had 11 points off the bench for Van Nuys (2-17, 1-7), and Michael Crawford added 10.

GIRLS

Grant 53, Poly 23--Junior center Shenia Smith scored a game-high 23 points to lead Grant (8-4, 4-0) to an East Valley League win at home. Monique Young added eight points and 10 steals for Grant.

Van Nuys 71, Monroe 22--Leading 33-9 at the half, Van Nuys (17-3, 8-0) routed Monroe (1-7) in a Mid-Valley League game at home. Senior center Stacie Toon had 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead Van Nuys.

Highland Hall 38, South Bay Lutheran 31 (OT)--Behind 17 points from Kristen Johansen, Highland Hall clinched at least a share of its first league title with a Westside League victory.

Laura Kenney scored four of her eight points in overtime for Highland Hall (12-5, 3-0).
