In other Valley Pac-8 Conference games:

Birmingham 21, Grant 13--Running back Darrell Moore, overshadowed most of the season by his Birmingham quarterback teammates, regained the spotlight at Grant. He scored twice and gained 95 yards in 22 carries.

Braves quarterback Vince Lampkin rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown, but left the game in the second quarter because of a sprained left ankle. His replacement, Noah Kirshbaum, completed five of 13 for 62 yards.

Lampkin, who said he expected to play against Sylmar next week, scored on the Braves’ fourth play from scrimmage, a 57-yard run on an option play.

Moore scored from two yards to cap Birmingham’s next possession and give the Braves a 14-0 lead.

Grant (3-3, 1-2) scored two touchdowns in the third quarter, but Eddy Moreno’s conversion kick after the second score was wide left, and the Braves led, 14-13.

Moore scored on another two-yard plunge 38 seconds into the fourth quarter, and Birmingham (4-1, 2-0) held on for the win.
