Three wide receivers, including El Camino College standout Shannon Thompson, are among seven players who have made oral commitments to play football at Cal State Fullerton, high school and community college coaches said Tuesday.

Thompson, 5-feet-10 and 170 pounds, caught 44 passes for 650 yards and scored eight touchdowns last season. The Morningside High graduate was a first-team All-Mission Conference and all-state selection and an honorable-mention All-American.

El Camino Coach John Featherstone said Thompson, an outstanding punt returner, and teammate Steven Danzy, also a wide receiver, will sign letters of intent with the Titans this week. Danzy (5-9, 170 pounds) caught 17 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns for El Camino.

The Los Angeles Valley pass-catch combination of quarterback Trendell Williams and receiver Marcus Bridges also has committed to Fullerton, L.A. Valley Coach Chuck Ferraro said.

Williams, 6-1 and 200 pounds, was the Western States Conference offensive player of the year as a freshman but missed half of the 1990 season because of a shoulder injury. He passed for 1,963 yards in two seasons. The 5-11, 170-pound Bridges was a two-time all-conference selection.

Two running backs, Keith Huff of Long Beach City College and Reggie Carter of Moreno Valley Canyon Springs High School, will sign with the Titans, according to Long Beach City Coach Wil Shaw and Canyon Springs Coach Jack Fogarty.

Huff, 5-11 and 205 pounds, rushed for 915 yards and six touchdowns and was an All-Mission Conference selection last season. Carter (6-0, 185 pounds) rushed for about 1,000 yards and scored 23 touchdowns to earn All-Ivy League honors.

On the defensive side, Mt. San Antonio College cornerback Bebe Hudson, 5-10 and 175 pounds, has committed to Fullerton, assistant Coach DeWayne Walker said. Hudson is the brother of Mt. SAC cornerback-safety Leonard Hudson, who signed with the Titans last month.
