Loyola Pounds Pepperdine, 18-8

Darrell Deak hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and tied a school record with seven runs batted in as Loyola Marymount defeated Pepperdine, 18-8, in a West Coast Conference baseball game Friday at Loyola.
Loyola, 37-21 overall and 24-10 in the WCC, must win both games of today’s doubleheader to win its second consecutive conference title and an automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs. Pepperdine (40-14-1, 24-9), ranked seventh in the nation, can clinch the conference title with one victory.
