San Fernando’s Brown on Track for Colorado St.

Leonice Brown, a football and track standout at San Fernando High, said Friday that he has scored 810 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test and is now eligible to matriculate to Colorado State, for which he has signed a letter of intent to play football.

Brown signed with the Rams in February but the scholarship was contingent on his passing the SAT. The National Collegiate Athletic Assn. requires a score of at least 700 on the SAT test in order for incoming freshman athletes to gain eligibility in their first collegiate season.

Brown, who scored the 810 on his third attempt, rushed for 1,060 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and is the City Section champion in the 100 meters with a personal best of 10.70 seconds.
