COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Uchoa’s Goals Give Golden West Title

Carlos Uchoa scored with 17 seconds remaining in sudden death to give Golden West, the No. 1-ranked team in the state, a 4-3 victory over Long Beach City in the championship game of the Cypress water polo tournament Saturday at Cypress College.
Uchoa forced the overtime period, scoring with eight seconds left in regulation to tie it, 3-3.
In the Cerritos Invitational cross-country race:
Irvine Valley Wins Five Races--Sue Davis and Burt Potwin teamed to win the top-seeded race, Karrie Ferguson and Dan Kroger the third-seeded race, Debbie Deming and Dan Meehan the fifth-seeded race, Angela Chavez and John Castorena the sixth-seeded race and Christie Clark and Rob Gall the seventh-seeded race. The meet paired a man running a four-mile course and a woman running a three-mile course. Their combined times determined the winner.
