In Arrowhead League football:

Calvary Chapel 46, La Verne Lutheran 2--Sabe Younger scored two touchdowns for host Calvary Chapel (6-1, 3-0) at Orange Coast College. Armando Para blocked two punts and recovered two fumbles for Calvary Chapel, which forced 10 Lutheran turnovers.

In Academy League eight-man football:

Liberty Christian 64, St. Margaret’s 18--Gabe Baltodano and Jeremy Anderson each scored three touchdowns for visiting Liberty Christian (5-2, 2-1).

In Express League eight-man football:

Harbor Christian 32, Claremont 14--Harbor Christian’s Romar McBride scored five touchdowns. Tim Newell (31-yard run) and Garrett Martinez (24-yard blocked punt return) scored for Claremont (0-6, 0-2).

At the Brentwood girls’ volleyball tournament:

Capistrano Valley Christian Wins--Kathleen Bunce had 39 total kills and was named the tournament’s most valuable player for the Eagles (8-1), ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division 1-A.

In nonleague water polo:

La Serna 10, Marina 9--Brian Pyle’s fourth goal, with 1:22 left, gave the host Lancers, top-ranked in Division 3-A, a 10-8 lead. Steve Andrusky scored three times for third-ranked Marina (12-10).
